Closure is the best gift you can give anyone you’ve ever been emotionally attached to, whether that closure will involve some serious hurtful things, or just trivial details, giving them those unanswered questions will do you a lot of good and will help them stop hating you at a certain point. It doesn’t benefit anyone to have loose ends hanging around in the past because those things have a funny way of coming back to hurt you in the shittiest of ways. 

Even if you don’t feel like apologizing, just let them voice how angry they are, give them the chance to tell you how much you hurt them or how much they hated you, let them say their final piece without you even saying a word, because at the end of the day, that’s the best you can do for them, and for yourself.
